Telecommunications keep evolving, and so does the way we watch television. According to the CTV in LATAM: The Future Forward<\/a> report, 72% of Mexicans watch TV via streaming. And if we add that the trend is growing, we may deduce that we will be more connected next year than ever before. That is why infrastructure is becoming increasingly relevant to bring users these new services. One of the critical systems to achieve this is DWDM<\/strong> (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing). But what does DWDM<\/strong> mean? Well, we will talk about it in this particular article!<\/p>\n

The Key to Today’s Telecommunications<\/h2>\n

Let’s start by saying that DWDM<\/strong> is optical fiber transmission. It is different because it is a transmission technique based on optical fiber that allows several light wavelengths. With this, it may deliver additional data through the same medium. As mentioned before, its main feature is that by spacing the wavelengths less, it may accommodate more channels in a single fiber. Its only downside is that it is slightly more expensive to implement and maintain. In the long run, however, it brings significant benefits.<\/p>\n

Two of the primary uses of DWDM<\/strong> are long-distance networks<\/em> and submarine cables, which may connect continents with submarine cables, such as those linking Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n
